Overview
Full-stack SaaS platform that automates contractor license and insurance verification across all 50 US states. General contractors, property managers, and compliance teams use TradeProof to instantly verify whether subcontractors are properly licensed and insured — replacing a manual process that used to take hours per contractor.
The Challenge
The construction industry loses billions annually to unlicensed work and insurance gaps. Verifying a single contractor means navigating dozens of different state licensing portals, each with its own UI, data format, and search logic. No unified API exists.
The Solution
Built a data aggregation engine that connects to 180+ state licensing agencies, backed by a FastAPI REST API and PostgreSQL database. Implemented blue/green Docker deployments on GCP, Stripe billing with tiered pricing, and a worker architecture that refreshes 3.6M+ records nightly. Passed a 130-finding security audit with zero critical issues remaining.
